With the rise of China as a global political and economic power, Hong Kong has a unique position and advantage to play the role, as gateway to and from China, to assist foreign companies in exploiting the huge internal marketplace in China, and to help the Chinese enterprises, emboldened by their domestic successes, to go global. Our value-add lies in the expertise of our human capital: in international sales and marketing; in our professionalism in project and customer services management; in our domain knowledge in our pillar industries such as finance, logistics, service industries; and in our bilingual capabilities. Our value-add also lies in our excellent infrastructure in logistics, telecommunications and social and legal framework.

Information and communications technology (ICT), as an enabling technology and an industry, is vital in helping Hong Kong remain competitive in a global economy by increasing knowledge, promoting innovation and nurturing talent.  These three critical areas have been highlighted by Chinese Premier Wen Jiao-bao as the key elements for the future development of Hong Kong.

Therefore the pertinent strategic pursuit  for Hong Kong  is, through integration with the Mainland China¡¦s complementary strengths particularly that of the Pearl River Delta, how to effectively leverage and sustain our differentiating advantages in ICT to enhance the economic growth of China and Hong Kong.

We are honored to have invited a panel of prominent leaders in business, ICT industry and academia to share with us their visions for the future of the ICT industry in Hong Kong.
